DIY Beach Blanket Leather Carrier
Materials Needed:

You can choose any color leather to make this design your own! 30mm leather will also work.

Let's get started...

Cut your leather

Cut two strips of the 10mm punched leather.  Each strip will be approximately 21 inches
Cut two strips of 20mm flat leather. Each strip will measure approximately 18 inches
Cut 1 strip of 20mm flat leather measuring 12.5 inches

Glue

Add 1-2 drops of glue into the buckle clasp and insert the 10mm punched leather. Let dry
Working with this punched leather is great since it's already punched, the hole's are perfect, and it's flexible.

Rivet Time

Align the 10mm flat punched leather in the center of the 20mm flat leather
Take a pin or fine pen and mark where you will punch the 20mm leather
I placed the first rivet 3 holes up from the buckle clasp
Use your rotary hole punch to punch the leather
Insert the back end of 6mm rivet through the bottom of the 20mm leather and 10mm punched leather
Insert the top end of the rivet and push closed with your fingers to secure before you hammer
Place the leather (with the rivets) on a rivet plate or hard surface
Align the rivet setter above the rivet dome
Hammer secure

Repeat this process.  I used the punched leather as a measuring tool and placed my rivets every 10th hole on the leather. You should have a total of six rivets showing on each strip (and 2 hiding underneath where the handle is)

The Handle:

After the 3rd rivet you will attach the small strip of 20mm leather that will become the handle
To make sure the handle was secure I used 2 rivets, which are hidden by the 10mm over lapping leather

You want extra 10mm punched leather hanging over the edges so you can adjust the carrier to fit multiple things - yoga mats, cotton hammocks, camping equipment, blankets, or towels!
